Grey’s Anatomy beloved (former) actress Sara Ramirez made her divorce with husband official on social media!
It’s in the early hours of today that Grey’s Anatomy former star Sara Ramirez revealed on her Instagram profile that she and her husband for the last 6 years, banker Ryan Debolt got divorced!
Ryan and I are no longer together. We remain loving and supportive in how we are choosing to forge our new individual paths. Thank you for holding space around our choices and respecting our families’ privacy as we navigate this process on our own terms. The actress, in announcing the news, also took the opportunity to thank her fans, who have been very considerate towards them by respecting the necessary privacy in cases like these. She also reminds people that it’s always better to think about doing good rather than comment on the others’ private lives. On this matter, she added in appendix to the post a list of associations she supports!
In 2018, following the massacre in Orlando and violence against the LGBTQ community, Sara Ramirez felt compelled to share her bisexual and queer identity.
Ramirez talks about her coming out as “an organic, growing urgency, to use my experience to empower those who are part of these communities that I’m part of,” a requirement that “overwhelmed me in a way that I’ve never felt before,” said former Grey’s Anatomy star and civil rights activist.
Sara Ramirez will play the non-binary version of Samantha in Sex And The City revival.
As we mentioned in a previous article, Ramirez will soon be back to the small screen in a role that’s close to the LGBTQ+ community in the revival of Sex And The City “And Just Like That”.
Sara Ramirez will play Che Diaz, a queer and non-binary cabaret player who hosts a podcast in which Carrie is a regular guest. Her character will be one of three characters, all non-white, that will fill the void left by the character of Kim Cattral, the iconic Samantha Jones.
