A question gripping Outlander fans in the wake of season 6 events concerns one of the young couples that has most enthralled the audience of the STARZ historical-fantasy drama: Will we see Fergus, Marsali and their big little family again in season 7?
In the final episodes of Outlander Season 6, we see Fergus and Marsali ready to make a fresh start after the hard times they’ve had. Between Fergus feeling useless in the face of his family’s needs and the various attacks following the birth of baby Henri-Christian, who suffers from dwarfism. Jamie’s aunt Jocasta Cameron (now Innes) offers him a chance at rebirth by buying a print shop in Philadelphia for him. A place for them to live their lives in peace. And so it seems to be in the final episode, where we see Roger and Brianna proudly leafing through the first issue of ‘The Onion’. A magazine produced by Fergus’ own print shop, again with the help of Marsali.
But what will become of them in Outlander Season 7?
According to what we know from the books, the two remain absent or otherwise marginal for the duration of the seventh book, An Echo in the Bone, on which Outlander season 7 is based. But as we know, the books do not dictate the law, as the series’ writers and producers have already given more prominence to the couple in the past.
However, as we learn from Lauren Lyle and César Domboy, who play Marsali and Fergus respectively, Instagram profiles, the two are currently devoting themselves to some healthy rest, or other projects, and unlike their fellow cast members, they are not on set in Scotland for the filming of Outlander Season 7, which leads us to believe that the two won’t appear, at least for the first part, in the season.

I would like to see Marsali and Fergus in Season 7 and beyond. I much prefer their relationship to Brianna and Roger which is rather dull and boring and has been from the start. Marsali and Fergus have a more “real” relationship and truly love one another. Brianna and Roger’s relationship seems contrived to me both in the books and in the show
