In 2023 the second season of Il commissario Ricciardi will air on Rai 1: here are the first official previews of season 2!

Plot
The aura of mystery that surrounds Ricciardi makes him a man desired by women: the sensual Livia – who for some time has been trying to scratch his heart – is joined by the Countess Bianca Palmieri of Roccaspina. For him the time of choice is at hand. If in love Ricciardi appears introverted, in work – for which he has a real vocation – he resolves with determination the most difficult cases thanks to his extraordinary intuitive skills, helped by the faithful Brigadier Maione and the forensic doctor Bruno Modo. A powerful contamination of genres – crime, mystery and melò – for an engaging story that, against the background of Naples, investigates the meaning of life and pain.
Cast and production
Screenplay by Maurizio de Giovanni, Salvatore Basile, Viola Rispoli, Doriana Leondeff. Based on the book series Il commissario Ricciardi by Maurizio de Giovanni, published by Einaudi.
Cast: Lino Guanciale, Antonio Milo, Enrico Ianniello, Serena Iansiti, Maria Vera Ratti, Mario Pirrello, Fabrizia Sacchi, Nunzia Schiano. Adriano Falivene, Marco Palvetti, Peppe Servillo, Christoph Hülsen, Veronica D’Elia, Fiorenza D’Antonio
What has changed, though, is the director: from Alessandro D’Alatri to Gianpaolo Tescari, who has managed to maintain continuity with the first episodes, although season 2 is more romantic than the previous one.
The settings
In the new episodes, directed by Gianpaolo Tescari, who replaced Alessandro D’Alatri, we find Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi in the characteristic streets of Naples.
The “Caffè Gambrinus” symbolic location of De Giovanni’s books and the TV series cannot be missed. Other locations include the San Carlo Theater, a short walk from Piazza Plebiscito and the Gambrinus, where the first episode of the first season was filmed inside. Also in the theatrical setting, the set moves to the Sannazzaro Theater. Many downtown churches and historic buildings are also involved in the viewers’ vision. These include the Museum and Real Bosco of Capodimonte and Villa Pignatelli, along the Riviera di Chiaia.
We enter the private lives of the characters. The house of Brigadiere Maione, played by Antonio Milo, is located in vico della Tofa. Commissario Ricciardi’s house is on Via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi number 107 in the Stella neighborhood.
Just outside Naples, in Bagnoli, Via Toledo has been reconstructed. The other locations in Campania are Capua and Castelvorturno, in the province of Caserta, and Nocera Inferiore in the province of Salerno. To best repurpose the historic center of 1930s Naples, the production has chosen Taranto since the first season, particularly the nocturnal alleys of the old city. The area most used by the set is that of Via Duomo and Via Nuova.
